2020-21 CLASSROOM PROJECT Program
The Hayward Education Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2020-2021 HEF Classroom Projects Program and the COVID-19 Addendum funding.
Awards up to $1,000 are available to individual teachers for innovative and creative classroom projects which enhance the learning experience of Hayward students. Funding is provided through a competitive bidding process usually announced at the beginning of the school year. All teachers who are employed at schools in Hayward (Public, Private, Charter etc.) are eligible and encouraged to submit a classroom project for funding. Application deadline is October 23, 2020. Decisions will be made the first week of November.
For this funding year, we have added a COVID-19 Addendum. This additional funding has been allocated to HELP SUPPORT TEACHERS and students adapt to the unique circumstances and new challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Awards up to $800 are available to individual teachers to help with distance/remote learning and the transition period for the 2020-2021 school year. It is our goal to offer help and support to online classrooms in ways that the district cannot. Application deadline is October 9, 2020. Applications as reviewed and decided upon as they come in.
Applicants may apply for both funding options but must submit the respective applications. Applications that have joint funding requests, will not be accepted.
Give Hope & Cheer this coming year!
Our mission has always been to support Hayward classrooms. However, this year, during these chaotic times, we have have actively reached out to Hayward teachers to help them transition to distance teaching and to enable their students to be as engaged and successful as possible by giving them access to personal whiteboards and headphones, math and science kits, reading books, art supplies, and more. As of November, our donors have impacted 47 teachers and over 3,000 students.
The Hayward Education Foundation has been supporting creative classroom projects in Hayward schools, public, private and charter, for thirty-seven years. Over $1,067,000 of donated monies have been distributed to 1,069 classrooms to support projects that enhance student skills in language arts, science, math, and the arts.
A year end donation from you would allow us to support more classrooms in 2021 by providing additional resources to the K-12 students in the Hayward community.
